The system was designed to be consistent with CMS CPT 90791, which is used by psychologists, social workers, and other licensed behavioral health professional to provide "psychiatric diagnostic evaluations without medical services" in 20 to 90 minutes. The SAGE system has been designed to enable clinicians to complete and document their evaluation in just over 20 minutes.

Why Use the SAGE-SR?

Easy for clients to understand
The SAGE-SR is written at a 5th grade reading level, consists of 70 short screening questions, and contains no open-ended questions.

Clients can complete it quickly
Depending upon the number of screening questions endorsed, the average length of time for completion of individual assessments for clients is only 15 to 25 minutes.

Simple for clinicians to administer
Clinicians can administer the SAGE-SR in waiting rooms or send secure links for clients to take the assessment at home using a PC, tablet, or smartphone. It also requires little to no clinician time. No clinician training is required for administration.

Only asks clients relevant questions
Because the SAGE-SR uses branching logic, clients are only asked follow-up questions based on their answers in the initial screener. Although the total item bank of follow-up questions consists of over 500 items, clients will only see necessary follow-up questions based on their screener responses.

DSM-5 compatible
The SAGE-SR covers all diagnostic symptoms of approximately 30 behavioral health diagnoses. Intuitive reports provide feedback and a list of ICD-10 diagnoses that should be considered.

Clear and comprehensive reports
Clinicians can easily evaluate pertinent positive endorsements and draw conclusions about diagnoses. Clinicians can also use the report to view the client’s responses to all items.

Clinical Note Generation

The Clinical Note Generation is a separate feature that takes the information from the SAGE-SR and the SAGE-SR Intake to create a detailed clinical note suitable for a medical chart. This note provides a comprehensive overview of the patient's mental health status and is supplemented with a treatment plan pre-generated using GPT-4, depending on the diagnoses present in the SAGE-SR report. These treatment plans have been vetted for accuracy by Dr. Benjamin Brodey, the CEO and Director of Research at TeleSage.
